Evelyn Crismon
Crismon, Evelyn Evelyn Crismon, age 93, went to be with her Lord and Savior on Saturday, March 27, 2021. She was born in England on October 1, 1927 to George and Mabel Fowler. She was preceded in death by her husband, "Pork" Crismon and sister, Eunice. She is survived by her children Shelley (Dave) Holmgren, Georgina "Gigi" (Kevin) Meyer, and Ron (Sharon) Crismon; brother, Edward Fowler; sister, Stella Musspratt; six grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and many nieces, nephews, and friends. She met her husband, "Pork," in England during WWll. They married on December 7, 1949. Together they opened "Porks" Grocery in Burnips in 1962. "Pork" passed away on May 28, 1975 and Evelyn continued to run the store until her retirement in 1987. Evelyn was also an avid knitter. She resided at Heritage Nursing Home in Zeeland since 2013. The staff was so very kind and thoughtful even in the midst of COVID. She was always grateful to see Heather and tell her stories of England and Burnips. A private family service will be held at Burnips Cemetery at a later date. In memory of Evelyn, and in lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Burnips United Methodist Church, 4241 30th St. Dorr, MI 49323.
