SEDALIA - Carl Tilley passed on to his Heavenly destination Monday, March 1, 2021, in Sedalia, MO. Carl was born in his grandparent's home in Bellefonte, AR on April 15, 1942. He was preceded in death by his parents L.C. Tilley, Jr. and Mildred A. Ruble-Tilley. Carl graduated from Valley Springs High School in 1960. He was a 1964 graduate from the University of Arkansas where he obtained his teaching degree in mathematics. He later earned his Master of Science in Mathematics from The University of Missouri in Rolla, MO. Carl married Charlotte Ann Hunt on August 7, 1964. They raised two sons, Jeff (Amy) of Sedalia, MO and Phillip (Jennifer) of Monett, MO. They have six grandchildren: Adam (Kaylin) Tilley, Carley (David) Michaelis, Andrew Tilley, Kristen (Brendan) McGeehan, Matthew Tilley (fiancé Samantha Hutchins), and Brooke Tilley. They also have one great-granddaughter Sloane Tilley. Carl has three sisters: Jane (Charles) Adair of Harrison, AR, Judy (Roy) Simms of Carrollton, MO, and Cathy Clary of Gainesville, MO. Carl spent eighteen years teaching high school mathematics in Missouri in the Salem, Pierce City and Neosho school districts. He also spent seven years as the Transportation and Maintenance Director for Neosho Schools. Carl and Charlotte decided to retire from city life and bought a farm in Pierce City, MO. and resided there for many years while owning Tilley Insurance Agency in Monett, MO. Following his retirement, he resumed teaching at Berean Christian Academy, Crowder College and State Fair Community College at Whiteman Air Force Base. Carl loved the 56 years of marriage to his beautiful bride, Charlotte. He loved his family and friends. Carl was an active member of the First United Methodist Church in Monett, Mo, for many years and now The First Christian Church (Disciples of Christ) in Sedalia, MO. Carl had a deep faith in Christ which he loved to share with his family and others. There will be a small family service in Sedalia, MO, at a later date. Interment will be at Maplewood Cemetery in Harrison, AR. Memorial contributions can be made to the First Christian Church of Sedalia (Disciples of Christ) Building Fund. Arrangements are in the care of Heckart Funeral Home in Sedalia, MO.
