David Eugene "Sonny" Colvin
David Eugene "Sonny" Colvin, 73, of Shepherdsville, formerly of Campbellsville, son of Mary Aileen Melton Colvin and the late Kenneth Colvin, was born on Sept. 27, 1947 in Taylor County. He died at 12:31 p.m. on Thursday, Feb. 25, 2021, in Louisville. He served his country honorably in the United States Army and was a veteran of the Vietnam War, as well as a retired machinist specialist at C Lee Cook. He was a loving father and grandfather who always made sure his family was taken care of. He was also a Mason and was able to participate with his father and son in Masonic activities. His favorite hobby was restoring cars and attending car shows. He made many good friends through his involvement with cars. He is survived by one daughter and two sons: Michelle Milby and husband, Dennis, of Summersville, Allen Colvin and wife, Jennifer, of Hart County and Michael Colvin and wife, Brandy, of Louisville; six grandchildren: Dustin Milby, Michael Aaron Colvin, Meredith Anne Colvin, Casey Rena Colvin, Addison Grace Colvin and Scarlett Elizabeth Colvin; his mother, Mary Aileen Melton Colvin, of Campbellsville; two sisters, Joyce Ann Colvin and Paula Hunt of Campbellsville; several nieces and nephews and many other relatives and friends. Funeral services were held on March 1 at Parrott & Ramsey Funeral Home in Campbellsville by Rev. Kelvin Edwards. Burial followed in Brookside Cemetery with full military honors by the Marion County Veterans Honor Guard.
