Carol F. Brown
Carol F. Brown Knoxville - Carol Frances Brown - age 83 of Knoxville passed away Sunday, February 28, 2021. Carol was a lifelong member of Second United Methodist Church when she was placed on the Cradle Roll at her birth on October 16, 1937. Her constant devotion to her church family and relationship with Christ marks the foundation of her beautiful life. Faith, Family, Friendship, Fun were the hallmarks of all she did. As her cousin once said, "She is the Glue that holds us all together!" Her interests were many: Singing in the church choir, cooking delicious meals for her family and friends, playing golf and bridge, swimming, meeting her "butties" for lunch, and going to Bible study with her church friends, many of whom she had known her whole life! Carol's grandchildren were most precious to her! She rarely missed a birthday, piano recital, graduation, or football game of her six grandsons and one darling granddaughter. "Momma Carol" or "Mimi" as they called her will be deeply missed as she was extremely generous, often playful and always dependable. Preceded in death by husband, Brady Brown; son, Brik Brown; parents, AM and Evelyn Smith; and sisters, Judy Fisher and Charlotte Hayes. Survived by daughter, Kellie Pratt (Perry); grandchildren, Charlie Pratt (Savannah), Julianna Pratt (Jared) and Thomas Pratt; son, Dane Brown (Kelly); grandsons, Kevin Brown (Eunice), Darren Brown, Mark Brown, and Philip Brown; dear brother and sister-in-law, Tommy and Susie Smith; cousins, Jim Porter (Deb) and Ronnie Porter; a host of beloved nieces and nephews; and a treasure chest of friends. In lieu of flowers, Carol's wishes were for donations to be sent to the Salvation Army or Saint Jude's Hospital. The family will receive friends 4:00-6:00 PM Friday, March 5, 2021, at Bridges Funeral Home followed by the funeral service at 6:00 PM officiated by Rev. David Haynes. The funeral service may be viewed securely on the Bridges Funeral Home website. Family and friends will gather 2:45 PM Saturday at Greenwood Cemetery for a 3:00 PM interment with Rev. Robert Haskins and Rev. Charla Sherbakoff officiating. Arrangements by Bridges Funeral Home, 5430 Rutledge Pike, 865-523-4999. www.bridgesfuneralhome.com
