John Thomas Yoak NEWARK - John Thomas Yoak, 80, of Newark Ohio, took his final journey to his heavenly home on Feb. 27, 2021, with his daughter LeAnn by his side. John was born on Aug. 4, 1940 in Kingsville Ohio to the late Edwin & Irene Yoak. After graduating high school in 1959, he enlisted in the U.S. Air Force and married the love of his life, Elizabeth (Betty) K. Yoak. He spent 4 years in the military. After returning from the military, John worked at AGMC, at Newark Air Force Base in Heath Ohio for 39 years. John loved to be around his family, go fishing, camping, boating, do photography, work on cars and tinkering with just about anything electrical. He also was a past Master in the Heath Masonic Lodge # 771. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife of 61 years, Elizabeth, and one son, Bradley. He is survived by his daughters, Leann (Gary) Niese, Venius LuRae Yoak, and Julia (Timothy) Talbott; son, Bentley (Betty Jo) Yoak; 7 grandchildren, Pamela Yoak, John R. Foit III, Matthew Yoak, Timothy Niese, Justin Yoak, Jonathan Niese, and Jessica Walker, and 9 great-grandchildren, Ty, Hailey, Colten, Sarah, Ryleigh, John IV, Jolene, Abram and Emberlyn. A Masonic service will be held at 12 p.m. Friday March 5, 2021, at Brucker and Kishler Funeral Home. Burial will follow at Newark Memorial Gardens, where military honors will be conducted by the Licking County Veterans Alliance. The family will receive friends and family from 10-12 p.m. Friday prior to the Masonic service. Due to the pandemic, masks must be worn inside the funeral home and social distancing is required.
