Lucia "Lucy" (DiTommaso) Pappalardo, 92, of Westerly, RI and formerly Wethersfield and Hartford, beloved wife for 55 years of the late Dominick Pappalardo, passed away peacefully on Friday, February 26, 2021. Born in Floridia, Sicily on October 19, 1928, she was the daughter of the late Sebastiano and Angela (Pavano) DiTommaso. She was a talented Seamstress and Fur Finisher in Hartford for many years. Lucy was a social butterfly, comical and loved by everyone that knew her. A loving mother, grandmother, "nonna" and great-grandmother, "bisnonna", Lucy will be forever missed by her three children, Raffaela Vegiard and husband Paul of Narragansett, RI, Anthony Pappalardo and wife Lucy of Port Charlotte, FL and Angela Pappalardo Gionfrido and fiancé Joseph Miano of Narragansett, RI; four adored grandchildren, Paul Vegiard, Jr. and wife Sabina, Christina Schoonmaker and husband Michael, Dominic Pappalardo and wife Amy, and Cristian Gionfrido and eight cherished great-grandchildren, Jake and Alexandra Vegiard, Lily, Owen, Alex and Simon Schoonmaker, and Valerie and Alicia Pappalardo. She is also survived by her dear sister, Maria Migliore of East Windsor, two brothers, Antonio DiTomasso and wife Angela and Paolo DiTomasso and wife Salvatrice, all of Farmington; along with her many nieces, nephews and six special godchildren, Carmela, Diana, Enza, Maria, Anita and Lena. She was predeceased by her brother-in-law, Thomas Migliore. Special thanks to the staff at Royal Westerly Nursing Home for their kind and compassionate care of our mother. Services will be held on Friday, March 5, 2021 at 11:45 a.m. at the Garden Mausoleum at Cedar Hill Cemetery, 453 Fairfield Avenue, Hartford. Everyone is asked to meet directly at the cemetery. Funeral home staff will be at the cemetery gate to assist with directions to the mausoleum. Masks are required and social distancing guidelines will be strictly adhered to. The family has requested no flowers. Donations in Lucy's memory may be made to the charity of your choice. The D'Esopo Funeral Chapel, Wethersfield has been entrusted with arrangements.
