Helen Wolfe Scottsdale - Helen Wolfe, 91, of Scottsdale, AZ, passed away on January 22, 2021. She was born March 14, 1929, in Geneva, Illinois to Conrad and Helen Hegstrom. She grew up in West Chicago, Illinois, and later the family moved to Elmhurst, Illinois. She was an airline hostess for TWA in the early 1950's and then married her husband, Bud, in 1955. After having two daughters, Peggy and Janice, they eventually moved to Scottsdale in 1972. Helen was active in TWA Clipped Wings, the Scottsdale Memorial Hospital Auxiliary, and Valley Presbyterian Church for many years. She was a Brownie and Girl Scout leader for both daughters, and served as a room mother countless times over the years. She also enjoyed traveling, cooking, sewing, crafts, needlework, and gardening. She was a loving mother and grandmother who is survived by daughters Peggy Wolfe, of Lake Bluff, Illinois, and Janice (Sean) Christian of Phoenix, grandson Scott Christian, and granddaughter Annika Christian. Due to the pandemic, a memorial service will be scheduled for a later date. In Helen's honor, donations may be made to the William Anthony O'Brien Fund at Society of St. Vincent de Paul ( stvincentdepaul.net ) or St. Mary's Food Bank ( firstfoodbank.org ).
