Curtis Tilman Wood Curtis Tilman Wood, 87, of Free Union, Va., went home to be with the Lord on Friday, February 19, 2021, in Charlottesville, Va. He was born on July 2, 1933, to the late Oscar J. Wood and Charity Wood. He was also preceded in death by an infant son; his brothers, J. P., Lloyd, Oscar Jr., John Henry, and Broadus; and a sister, Josephine. He was a lab technician in mechanical engineering at University of Virginia for 40 years. He also loved part time farming with his son, David. He is survived by his loving wife of 70 years, Irene H. Wood; three sons, Chester, Keith, and David Wood; one daughter, Debbie Blackwell; seven grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren, and two great great-grandchildren. A funeral service will be held 11 a.m. Wednesday, February 24, 2021, at Preddy Funeral Home in Madison. Interment will be held at Gentry Methodist Church Cemetery in Boonesville, Va. Pastor Steve Nethery will officiate.
