HOLCOMBE - Ranald W. It is with great sadness that the family of Ranald W. Holcombe announces his passing on February 14, 2021 at the age of 86. Ranald will be remembered by his beloved wife Elaine, his cherished children, Ranald, Laura and Kendra, his beloved grandchildren, Ian, Isabella, Madeline, Gabrielle, Savannah, Emily and Jacob. His beloved brother Alan and wife Lucy, his beloved sister Lu Ellen and husband Howard and his beloved nieces and nephews. Ranald was a Southern gentlemen, born in Alabama in 1934. He had a great love for the state and the Alabama Crimson Tide football team. He loved reading, going to the movies, driving cross country and sailing. His greatest love of all was the love he had for his children and family. Ranald spent two years in the Army and then began his career as a Suffolk County police officer. He retired as a sergeant after putting in twenty nine years. He loved his work and was respected by his fellow officers. A memorial service will be held later this year with family and friends. Memorial donations would be greatly appreciated in Ranald's name to the Good Shephard Hospice, 200 Belle Terre Rd., Port Jefferson, N.Y. 11777.
