Jay L. Harvey
Jay L. Harvey, age 64, passed away suddenly at home on Feb 17, 2021. He was born in Maine on Nov 26, 1956 to Fredrick and Jeanita (Daigle) Pinette. He was a graduate of Bloomfield High School in Connecticut. Jay worked as a maintenance craftsman for the Town of Agawam for over 24 years. He was an active member of Mount Moriah Lodge in Westfield and a Nobel in the Melha Shriners. He was also a member of the Melha Riders club which he very much enjoyed riding along with his fraternity brothers. Jay was larger than life and loved being the center of attention wherever he went. Jay loved spending quality time having dinner and playing cards with his family and friends and proudly taking them for joy rides on his Ultra Classic Harley-Davidson. He was predeceased by his wife Elva (Toutant) Harvey. Jay leaves four children, Jayson Harvey and his wife Diane of Three Rivers, Jaime Harvey (Asselin) of Longmeadow, John Santos of Springfield, and Bobbie Smith and her husband Craig of Springfield; three brothers, Mark Harvey of OH, Michael Pinette and his wife Kelly of Chicopee and Steve Pinette and his wife Rose of FL; one sister, Benita Ouellette and her husband Mike of ME and seven grandchildren, Aidan, Kiersten, Mina, Brady, Mariah, Kevin and Garrette as well as many nieces and nephews. Visiting Hours will be held on Wed, Feb 24, 2021 from 4 to 7 pm at Sampson Chapel of the Acres 21 Tinkham Rd. Springfield followed by a celebration of his life at Nathan Bills in Springfield. A burial will be held on Thurs, Feb 25, 2021 at Hillcrest Cemetery in Belchertown Ma. at 10:30 am. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions can be made in his name to the Shriner’s hospital for Children, 516 Carew St., Springfield, MA 01104.
