In memory of
Mary Margadonna Bibbo Cherished and loved by her family Mary Margadonna Bibbo went to Heaven on Feb. 16, in her home surrounded by her family and devoted caregivers. Born and raised in Elizabeth, N.J., Mary attended Blessed Sacrament and St. Genevieve's Elementary Schools and graduated from Mother Seton High School. After earning a degree at Middlesex Community College, Mary worked as an executive secretary at Schering-Plough, United States Lines and Maersk Integrated Shipping. She moved to the Jersey Shore where she enjoyed the beach and running on the boards. Her yoga practiced was perfected at the Atlantic Club where she met her beloved husband Jerry. Mary and Jerry moved to San Diego and enjoyed the west coast climate and lifestyle before returning to Wall. Mary was a communicant at St. Catharine and St. Margaret Parish in Spring Lake where her faith was fortified. She was a pillar of strength and bravery as she faced her health challenges. If there were a competition for the person who could endure when faced with devastating diseases, Mary would win the GOLD MEDAL. She was admired by friends, neighbors, and health practitioners as she battled her afflictions with grace, hope and a smile. "Mary, you are my hero," they would remark. Andre, her spunky Maltese, was her constant companion and cheerleader. He was her best friend and always brought her joy when faced with complications. Mary was cherished and loved most by her family. At this sad time the family would like to express its gratitude to all those who supported Mary with kindness, care and compassion over the years, especially Dr. J. Schmidt, Dr. A. Evers, Dr. S. Cohen and his team at Sloan, Dr. H. Kuo and his team at Columbia, physical therapists Tyler Thorton, Nicole Russo and Christina Klymasz, and her devoted caregivers Anna, Irena and Myra from Olga's Helpers. Mary was predeceased by her parents Victoria and Anthony Margadonna and her husband Jerry Bibbo. She is survived by her sister Margaret and husband Charles, brother Mark and wife Mary Lou, her nieces Victoria Finnegan and Margaret Margadonna, her nephews Charles Maffey and Anthony and Timothy Margadonna, and great-nieces and nephews Charles, Margaret, Wylie and Catherine, all of whom she spoiled and adored. The family will plan a memorial Mass at a later date due to pandemic concerns. In lieu of flowers, please make a donation to Memorial Sloan Kettering or Caregiver Volunteers of Central Jersey or the charity of your choice.
