In memory of
Virginia "Ginger" Lanzel
Virginia Ann Lanzel (Mcintosh), known to everyone as "Ginger" passed away peacefully on January 25, 2021 after a courageous battle with cancer. Born August 19, 1938 in Los Angeles, she graduated from Coachella High School and attended Mt. San Antonio College. Ginger moved to Huntington Beach in 1966 where she raised her children and formed lifelong friendships. She was a dedicated employee with the Westminster School District and JCPenney. She was a member of the Orange Coast Mothers of Twins Club, Community United Methodist Church, and a patron of Central Library. She had a ball spending time with friends, enjoyed listening to Neil Diamond, and was a big fan of the Los Angeles Lakers. Ginger is preceded in death by her mother, Ruth Elizabeth Phillips (Leebrick), stepfather, Robert Louis Phillips, and brother, Dale Avon Mcintosh. She is survived by her three children, Diana Penasa, Sandra Lanzel, and Michael Lanzel; and five grandchildren, Charles, Emily, Adam, Madeleine, and Myles. Ginger cherished time spent with her grandchildren who brought her much joy and laughter. She will be missed every day and remembered as a loving soul and a thoughtful, loyal friend. She is interred at Harbor Lawn-Mount Olive Memorial Park in Costa Mesa. A Celebration of Life will be held once restrictions allow.
