Kathleen Boyd Miles
MILES, Kathleen Boyd Kathleen Boyd Miles was born March 27, 1928 and passed away on February 13, 2021 at age 92. Kathleen was born in Fort Worth at home on her mother's birthday. She was the youngest of 3 girls and lived the majority of her life in Fort Worth until she moved to Rockwall in 1995 to be closer to her only child and her only grandson, Jamie. She graduated from Poly High School where she was a cheerleader. She was married for 66 years to James Corbett Miles. They had the ultimate love story and a rare storybook marriage. Her family life can best be summarized by something her husband James wrote in 2012: "When I returned from the war, I began to notice a certain young lady that beat anything I had ever seen, anywhere, anytime. After an intense courtship (on my part), lightning struck. On 6/9/48, we were married. Lucky me, on 5/17/50, lightning struck again. A little girl baby was born (Corleen) and lightning said "no more strikes, you got the best!" And we did get the best. We quickly became the 'big three'". James and Kathleen would have no other children but as written above, they cherished Corleen with all their heart and she adored and respected them in return. Kathleen's faith was quiet and unwavering. She was a ray of sunshine and a beacon of light to all that knew her. Her inner beauty was as stunning as her outer beauty. God gave her a blessed life and while we are deeply saddened with her passing, we rejoice knowing that she has been reunited with her true love in Heaven with the Lord. She is survived by her daughter Corleen and husband James Helwig, her grandson Jamie and wife Tara Helwig and her sister Peggy Woodall.
