Muriel Gloria "Myrt" Taylor
Muriel "Myrt" Gloria (Fontaine) Taylor, 89, of North Attleboro, MA passed away peacefully at her residence surrounded by her loving family on Monday, February 15, 2021. She was the wife of the late Maynard L. Taylor, Jr. to whom she was married on May 29, 1954 at the former Holy Ghost Roman Catholic Church in Attleboro, MA and who died on July 26, 2004. Born in Attleboro, MA on October 13, 1931, she was a daughter of the late Frederick I. Fontaine and the late Aldina M. (Mercier) Fontaine. She lived her entire life in Attleboro, MA and North Attleboro, MA. She was a communicant of the Transfiguration of the Lord Parish – St. Mary. Mrs. Taylor retired in 1996 having worked the previous 12 years as a supervisor for Rosecraft, Inc. Prior to that position, she worked at Homer Alden's, V.H. Blackinton & Company, L. G. Balfour, and Attleboro Enterprises. She was a member of the Bristol County Citizen's Band Radio Club from 1968 – 1980 and in earlier years she was a den mother for Cub Scouts – Pack 9, Den 2 in North Attleboro, MA. Mrs. Taylor will be remembered as a loving wife, mother and grandmother who treasured the times spent gathered with family and spending time with her children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren. She was an ardent fan of the Boston Red Sox and enjoyed traveling. She enjoyed meeting her friends at Emerald Square Mall and participating in the walking program. Left to mourn her loss are her children: Byron L. Taylor of Seekonk, MA; Brian L. Taylor of Topsham, Maine; Branden L Taylor of Seekonk, MA and Brenda L. Howe of North Attleboro, MA; grandchildren and great grandchildren; her siblings: Lorraine R. McCarthy of Cumberland, RI; Louise E. Pendleton of Attleboro, MA; Roger L. Fontaine of Woonsocket, RI, and Norman W. Fontaine, Sr. of Norfolk, MA and several nieces, nephews, extended family members and friends. Public services have been respectfully omitted. A private graveside service will be held in North Purchase Cemetery, Attleboro, MA. In lieu of flowers, memorial donation in Muriel's name may be made to American Diabetes Association.
