Ernest Jaques Del City - Ernest Jaques, of Del City, went to be with his Lord and Savior Tuesday, February 9, 2021 at the age of 100. He was born December 14, 1920 in Anadarko, Oklahoma to Manuel M. and Aurelia Mares Jaques. Ernest attended and graduated from Anadarko High School, Class of 1942. He was a long-time member of Southwest Baptist Church in Oklahoma City. Ernest served in WWII, and was stationed first in the Pacific Islands and then at Pearl Harbor. He worked at Tinker Air Force Base for over 40 years and retired as a Quality Assurance Specialist. Through the years, he worked many jobs, including the State Fair, until he was 97 years old. Ernest enjoyed traveling, especially going back to Pearl Harbor and Hickam Air Force Base. He also enjoyed going on the Oklahoma Honor Flights to see the World War II Memorial in Washington D. C. He loved spending time with his family and taking care of people. He had a heart of gold and would do anything for anyone. Ernest was loving, kind, smart, tough, strong, and hard-working all his life. He will be deeply missed by all who knew him, but his memory will be forever in our hearts. Ernest is survived by his wife of 77 years, Lorene Johnson Jaques; 4 granddaughters, Beverly Jones and husband Gary of Del City, Donna McKay of Weatherford, Cyndi Beane and husband Michael of Moore, and Tamara Jaques of Del City; 12 great-grandchildren, Tiera Manowski and husband Joe of Moore, Trent Jones of Moore, Tristan Jones and Courtney of Choctaw, Torey Dorrell and wife Kristina of Midwest City, Tyler Dorrell of Midwest City, Tray Dorrell of Oklahoma City, Tret Dorrell and Hailee of Stillwater, Kyle Beane of Moore, Bryan McAuley of Oklahoma City, Rowdy McAuley of Oklahoma City, Harlie McAuley of Weatherford, and Patrick Grumann of Del City; and 10 great-great-grandchildren, Lexie, Kasey, Kinley, Brody, Hadley, Kayden, Kiley, Kloey, Charlee, and Birdie. He is preceded in death by his parents, Manuel and Aurelia; sons, Ernest Jaques Jr. and Gary Jaques; brothers, Mike, Manuel, Hubert, and Willie Jaques; sister, Bertha Jaques; and great-grandson Taylor Dorrell. Visitation will be from 4 to 8 pm, Friday, February 19 at Sunny Lane Funeral Home and Cemetery, located at 4000 SE 29th Street, Del City, Oklahoma. Funeral services to celebrate Ernest's life will be held at 2:00 pm, Saturday, February 20 at Sunny Lane Funeral Home and Cemetery Chapel with Pastor Frank Wiley officiating. He will be laid to rest at Sunny Lane Cemetery in Del City, Oklahoma.
