In memory of
William A. "Wild Bill" Stephens II
William A. Stephens II, "Wild Bill," 70, passed away last week after a two-year battle with cancer. After moving from Washington to Alaska in the 1970s, Bill married Kerrie K. Stevenson (Dufseth) and settled in Fairbanks. Bill enjoyed a successful 30-year gold mining career, with 18 years at Fort Knox gold mine. He was the quintessential Alaskan, with a love for gold, hunting, English bulldogs, food, fishing and his family. Bill was a character, with such memorable mannerisms. If you ever had the opportunity to meet Bill, you would not soon forget him. He was a good man, son, brother, grandpa and friend, and he was an incredible father. Bill is survived by his children, Danika Osvold and Luke Stephens; his son-in-law Joshua and daughter-in-law Kelly; his mother, Astrid Stephens; and his three brothers, Eric, David and Jeffry. Bill's three grandchildren, Dontavian, Sterling and William, will miss their grandpa dearly. Bill is also survived by his ex-wife, Kerrie Dufseth, with whom he maintained a close relationship over the years. Due to COVID-19, there will be a celebration of life held in June with details provided at a later date. If you would like to donate to Bill's celebration of life/memorial, please visit gofund.me/40025954. Thanks for the day, Dad. We will see you in the morning.
