Dorothy Clark Cook
Dorothy Clark Cook, 98 Staten Island native Dorothy Clark Cook, 98, peacefully passed away on February 1, 2021, in her Northern Virginia home. Dorothy, Dot to her many friends, was a Staten Island native, graduating from Notre Dame Academy and Notre Dame College, continuing her education at Lenox Hill Hospital into a career as a public health nurse in New York City schools. In WWII, Dorothy met Bill Cook, a young Army private from Cincinnati, at a USO dance, and the rest was a life of love and family. They were members of St. Clare and St. Patrick parishes, the Great Kills Swim Club, and Historic Richmond Town. In 1998, Bill and Dot moved from their home built by her parents to Virginia to be close to 2 of their children, William and Maryclare, and 4 grandchildren. Bill passed away in 2010, preceded by their son, John. They are survived by William, Maryclare, Vail Joseph of Austin, TX, 5 grandchildren, and 1 great-grandchild. Dorothy will be buried alongside Bill at Quantico National Cemetery on February 16, 2021.
