Maria Yolanda Garza Coachella - Maria Yolanda Garza, 62, of Coachella, was called to our Lord on January 14, 2021. Born to Maria Cruz Sanchez of Coachella. Loved by many and known as Nana or Nina. She was a proud alumni of Coachella Valley High School, Class of 1978. Maria worked at GTE for many years and later retired from Walmart. She was an active member of Our Lady of Perpetual Help Church in Indio and served her faith in many roles. Nana loved to read, shop and spend time with family. Maria is survived by her mother, Maria Cruz Sanchez, niece Erica Alvarez and nephews Ramon "Trey" Alvarez and Samuel Alvarez. She is also survived by her Godchildren, Nathaniel Medina, Stephanie Aguilar, Claudia Medina, Martha Diaz, Mercedes Gomez, Stephanie Betzel, Anthony Gomez and Andy Gomez. Nana was surrounded and loved by many nieces and nephews and extended family. Viewing will be held February 12th at 82025 Bliss Ave in Indio from 12-2. A funeral mass will be held at a later date. Services directed by New Journey Cremation We ask that all attending use all precautions to stay safe; Wear masks and social distance.
