Dever, 91, of Lady Lake, Florida, formerly of North Attleboro and Needham, Massachusetts, passed away on Sunday, December 27, 2020. She was the wife of the late James L. Dever; they were married for 65 years. Born in Edmonton, Alberta, Canada on February 13, 1929, she was the daughter of Nicholas and Helen (Diduck) Holychuk and had twelve siblings. Betty grew up in Hilliard, Alberta where her parents had settled upon emigrating to Canada. Her family moved to Toronto, Ontario where Betty completed her education. After graduation she was employed by the Embassy of India in Washington, DC as an office manager. While in Washington, DC she met her husband to be. They returned to Massachusetts where they resided until retirement in 1992 and moved to The Villages. Betty was an avid reader and walker and also enjoyed tennis and golf. She is survived by daughter Elizabeth Ann Sturdy and husband Raymond; sons James R. Dever and wife Reiko; and Sean M. Dever; grandchildren Raymond, Brittany and Jimmy; great grandchild Amelia. A funeral mass will be celebrated at St Timothy Catholic Church, 1351 Paige Place, The Villages, FL 32159 on 13 day, February 2021 at 8:30 am.
