Mildred Conn
Mildred Conn Mildred Conn, born July 6, 1924 in Bronx, New York, died peacefully of natural causes in her home in Palm Desert on February 1, 2021. Mildred moved to Los Angeles in 1960 with her husband Howard (predeceased) and their two daughters. Mildred and Howard worked together for many years in the LA garment industry before moving to Palm Desert in 1987. Mildred also spent many years as President of the Los Angeles Fundraising Chapter of CARIH (Children's Asthmatic Research Institute and Hospital), organizing many successful fashion shows to benefit the children. After moving to the desert, Mildred made many great friends working for Saks Fifth Avenue in Palm Springs before moving to Macys in Palm Desert where she made more wonderful friends. Believing that working kept her young, she happily worked at Macys until she was 95. Everyone who knew Mildred would agree that she had strong opinions which she didn't hesitate to express and was one "tough cookie" with a soft heart. Mildred leaves behind her daughter Harriet A. Flint, son-in-law Paul Flint, grandson Michael and daughter Bernice Conn. At this time, there will be no services due to Covid-19. In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation to the Braille Institute Coachella Valley Center.
