Gwendolyn Spencer Born: November 20, 1920 Died: November 26, 2020 Gwendolyn Spencer (nee Peterson), age 100 of North Branford, Ct. died on November 26, 2020 of Covid 19. She was born on November 20, 1920 in Chicago, Illinois. She was the eldest daughter of Bernard C. Peterson and Beulah Peterson (nee Theobald). A 1942 graduate of University of Illinois where she was a member of PiBetaPhi sorority, she was married on March 19, 1943 to Charles C. Spencer who pre-deceased her in 1999. She lived much of her early life in LaGrange, Ill. but moved to Ridgewood, NJ and later Ft. Myers, Fl. and North Branford, Ct. She is survived by her youngest sister Peg Briggs of Moberly, Mo. and her three children: Charles S. and Pamela Spencer of Grayling, Mi., Barbara and Jeffrey Yearing of Warwick, NY, and William and Carol Spencer of Cambridge, Ma. She is also survived by 6 grandchildren and 9 great-grandchildren, as well as many nieces and nephews. She was a homemaker and worked in public relations.
