SHAMOKIN - Edward J. Lynch, 56 of 170 E. Dewart St., passed away Saturday, Jan. 9, 2021, at his residence. He was born at the former Ashland State General Hospital, March 25, 1964, a son of the late Edward and Joan (Joyce) Lynch, and the brother of the late Elizabeth Miller. He was a 1982 graduate of Our Lady of Lourdes High School. After high school, Edward went on to serve his country in the U.S. Marines Corps from 1982 until 1986. Edward was of the Catholic faith. He was also a member of the Kulpmont American Legion Post 231. He was an avid sports fan all of his life and also enjoyed his dogs and walking. Surviving are a sister Helen Deptula, of Oley; nieces, Ashley and her husband, Kyle Angstadt, Lorin and her husband, Tyler Yost, Jessica Deptula and her companion, Kyle Miller, Megan Deptula and her companion, Garrett Pelko; a nephew, Joshua Miller; a cousin, Barbara Shunk and her husband, David; a brother-in-law, Robert Miller; and numerous cousins. LYNCH - Edward J. Lynch, 56 of 170 E. Dewart St., Shamokin. A graveside service will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday at St. Mary's Cemetery, Beaverdale, with the Rev. Francis Karwacki officiating.
