In memory of
D. Brenda (Smith) Osborn
D. BRENDA (SMITH) OSBORN LAKELAND - D. Brenda (Smith) Osborn after a lengthy stay at LRH, went home to Heaven on Jan. 6, 2021, surrounded by her loving family (& Peaches). A special thanks to the nurses on the B3 wing and to the Cornerstone Palliative & Hospice group on D3 for their loving care given to Brenda. Born July 18, 1942, in Baltimore, MD, to Johnnie and Edythe O'Neal, the family moved to Miami, FL, in 1943. After graduation from Miami's Andrew Jackson High, she moved to Rockford, IL, and married Bill Roggensack. They had three children: Mark, Laurie, and Stephen, but were divorced after 22 years. In 1984 she met and married William Smith. They both graduated from Rhema Bible College in Broken Arrow, OK, and after several years of ministry, Bill retired to Cypress Lakes, Lakeland. Brenda worked at Mildred's Florist on Hwy 98 N and at the former Lakeland Yacht and Country Club at Lake Hollingsworth. In 2007, Bill passed on to Heaven. Brenda moved back to IL (to join family), where she renewed a friendship that blossomed into a sweet abiding love and a marriage to Pastor David D. Osborn. They both retired back to Cypress Lakes, Lakeland, in 2017. Brenda embraced life wholeheartedly, giving back to others unreservedly. There were many momentous occasions and memorable experiences woven throughout her journey. But the most meaningful moment that prevailed and carried her was when she gave her life to her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, at age 13. That personal relationship was foundational to her self-worth, value to the Kingdom of God and His purposes and future for her. She was immovable regarding the truth of His Word and that He, Jesus Christ, was exactly who He said He was and will always and ever be, for eternity. It was her Granny O'Neal that was instrumental in sharing the Gospel and love to Brenda. Survived by: husband, brother, 3 children, 8 grandchildren, 2 great grandchildren, 'sister-of-my-heart,' Andrea (Rockford, IL); 'lifetime-BFF,' Judy (Spring Hill, FL); Lynnsey, a server that lights-up-thearches on Hwy 98 N; and many friends who are not listed but know that because our lives crossed paths, blessing flowed. Of course must mention devoted pets, Corky & Misty (deceased), & Peaches. Thanks for the memories each and every one created indelibly on her heart and extended a sense of belonging for always. Funeral was in Rockford, IL, at the Grace Funeral Home ( www.graceFH.com ). Interment in North Burritt Union Cemetery. In lieu of flowers a fund is established to purchase a public park bench In Memoriam at one of Brenda's most loved oasis, located at Lake Morton. 'May you enjoy the royal swans as much as I have!' Checks may be sent to David Osborn, 9561 Anglers Way, Lakeland, FL 33810-2357.
