Joe Hand PEORIA – Joe Hand, 81, of Peoria, passed away on Monday, January 18, 2021 at his home. He was born on October 7, 1939 in Kewanee to Joseph Edward, Sr. and Catherine June (Crockett) Hand. He married Janet L. Morrell on September 4, 1960 in Toulon. She survives. Joe is also survived by his three children, Pamela (Howard) Curry of Gibson City, Edward Hand of Renton, WA, and Michael (Karina) Hand of Noblesville, IN; four grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; two brothers, James (Margaret) Hand of Osceola and John (Crystal) Hand of Elmira; and two sisters, Janet (Richard) Ingle of Oneida and Becky (Kent) Vigor of Kewanee. He was preceded in death by his parents; and three sisters. Joe was a claims adjustor for Allstate Insurance for 32 years, retiring in 1996. He volunteered with Wildlife Prairie Park, working with Mikitcha, an American Bald Eagle for many years. He also worked at the POTC, training dogs. He attended Grace Presbyterian Church in Peoria. Joe's graveside service will take place at a later date in the Chapel of Peace Mausoleum at Parkview Cemetery in Peoria. Davison-Fulton Woodland Chapel in Peoria is in charge of cremation arrangements. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Friends of Wildlife Prairie Park.
