Madeline McGoldrick
Madeline Eda McGoldrick nee Meda January 24, 1932 - January 8, 2021 Madeline Eda McGoldrick nee Meda entered into eternal rest on January 8th, 2021 at age 88. She grew up in the Marina District in San Francisco. She was an only child, but she had her cousins, Adrienne and Barbara, to grow up with and they remained as close as sisters throughout their lives. Her lifelong friend, Grace, has been her best friend and like a sister all of her life. Madeline and Grace had long conversations every Saturday morning, and that was very special to both of them. Madeline attended Presentation High School in San Francisco and graduated in 1950. In 1955 she married Tom, her true love and best friend. She was a loving wife for 38 years. She was proud of her Italian heritage and often shared stories about the family. She was an avid reader and loved to cook – especially the family ravioli recipe. She enjoyed spending time with her family, Christmas Eve parties since the 1970s are treasured. Santa Rosa was her getaway from The City, and had been a second home since she was 8 years old. She enjoyed sitting under the Cypress tree with Tom and enjoying the beautiful calm of the country. She was a member of the St. Francis Yacht Club since 1969, and we have many wonderful memories of family and friends gathering at The Club. Madeline is preceded in death by her father, Cesare B. Meda, her mother, Eda Celestina Meda, and her husband, Thomas Henry McGoldrick. She is the loving mother of Tom McGoldrick, Virginia McGoldrick, and Madeline Hart and special son-in-law, Mike, who was just like a son to her. She was the proud grandmother of Jimmy Hart (Lily), and Tommy Hart. In her words, she "loved them a bunch". She was the great grandmother to Owen and Rylan, and they both always made her smile and brought great joy into her life. Madeline is loved so dearly by all and will be missed dearly. A private service will be held, and she will rest with Tom at the Italian Cemetery. A celebration of life will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, a donation to Saint Anthony or a favorite charity is requested.
