Barone Jr. and stepfather of John McCarron (Paola Hirs-Castro) and Maureen Powers (Joseph) and Elizabeth McCarron (Sara Bressi). Grandfather of James F. Mitchell V. "Jimmy", Harrison "Harry", James "Jake", Samuel Lenis, Louis and Natalie Powers, Joya Nath and Charlie McCarron. Jay graduated from Lower Merion High School (1958) and Villanova University (1962). Jay was proprietor and owner of James P. Barone Company, esteemed asphalt paving company serving the Main Line since 1933 and also of Bryn Mawr Travel Agency (est. 1983). Interment is private.
