Mildred E. Gongliewski
Mildred E. Gongliewski of Olyphant, passed away peacefully on Monday, Jan. 18, 2021, at Regional Hospital of Scranton. She was the widow of Edward Gongliewski, who died in 2003. Born in Olyphant, daughter of the late Joseph and Helen Tehensky Cheplick, she was a graduate of Olyphant High School class of 1956 and Lackawanna Business College, and was a member of SS. Cyril & Methodius Ukrainian Greek Catholic Church in Olyphant. Before her retirement, she was employed for many years as a legal secretary for attorneys Albert Mackarey and C.J. Mustacchio. She was a loving mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, friend and neighbor who had the most caring friends. She will be dearly missed by everyone who knew her. She is survived by her son, Stephen Gongliewski and wife, Linda, of Thompson; her daughter, Mary Beth Chludzinski and husband, Peter, of Elmhurst; two grandsons, Nicholas and Zachary Chludzinski, of Elmhurst; one sister, Mary Ann Turko and husband, John J., of Olyphant; one brother, Thomas Cheplick and wife, Mildred, of Elmira, N.Y.; sister-in-law, June Cheplick; and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. In addition to her husband Edward, she was preceded in death by five brothers, John and wife, Evelyn; Joseph; David and wife, Mary; Gene and wife, Antoinette; and Russell; sister-in-law, Dorsey Cheplick; and several aunts, uncles and cousins. The family would like to thank the doctors and nurses at Regional Hospital for the wonderful care that Mildred received. Due to the coronavirus pandemic, there will be no public viewing. Services with interment in St. Cyril's Cemetery will be private and at the convenience of the family. Arrangements by the John J. Turko & Sons Funeral Home, Dickson City.
