James Cecil Barnes Jr. Esq. Scottsdale, AZ - Mr. James Cecil Barnes Jr., Esq., 76, of Scottsdale, Arizona and Bloomfield Hills, Michigan, transitioned into the light on December 26, 2020, after a long battle with Parkinson's disease and cancer. Beloved Husband to Joan, Father to James III and Jeffrey, Brother to Sarah Moran, Mary Johnson, Hollis and Linwood, and uncle to a great number of nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his brother Ronnie, sisters Jeffica Barnes and Cynthia Chisolm, and parents James Sr. and Eva. James was born in Morgan, Georgia. He obtained his Bachelor's Degree from the State University of New York, Brockport in 1970 and his JD from Harvard Law School, class of 1974. He practiced corporate, constitutional and civil rights law into the mid-2000s in the states of Pennsylvania, New York and Michigan. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial donations be made to The NAACP Legal Defense and Education Fund, Habitat for Humanity or The Muhammad Ali Parkinson Center at Barrow Neurological Institute.
