In memory of
David Cosenza Jr.
David N. Cosenza, Jr. 1929 - 2021 We mourn the passing of our loving husband, father and grandfather, Dave Cosenza, who passed away peacefully at home on January 3, 2021 at age 91. Born in San Francisco to Italian immigrant parents, he was the only child of Mary and David. He went by many names - Dave, Father, Dad, Daddio, Papa – but he was always the same kind, funny, devoted and loving man throughout his life. Dave laughed hardest at his own jokes and was always ready with a quickwitted comment when the moment arose. Born during the depression, he always said his childhood was lively and full, surrounded by family and friends. After graduating from Washington High School, he joined the Teamsters Union and worked at various warehouses (Sloane, Sears, VWR), always providing for his growing family. He married Stella Piazza in 1952 and they had six children together. They bought a home in the Sunset and raised their children in St. Gabriel's parish. In 1996, they moved to Fairfax, California, where Dave could tend to a large garden for hours every day. That large garden hosted many barbeques, birthday celebrations, Easter egg hunts, and holiday celebrations over the past 25 years. Dave's surviving family include his wife Stella, his children Marylouise (Robert), Davina, Mark (Katina), Matthew (Anne) and John (Regina). His son David passed away suddenly in November 2020, which broke his heart. Dave is also survived by his grandchildren Nicholas, Jacob, Natalina, Steven, Vincent, Brennan and Sofia. Dave was loved by all and will be deeply missed. The family would like to thank Marylouise and Robert for the constant attention, love and assistance to Dad the past several years. Also many thanks to Gigi and Chai for the kindness and care they provided to Dad in the past 5 months. A memorial service is being planned for a future date. Memorial donations may be sent to a charity of your choice. Thanks for everything, Dad. Drive easy.
