In memory of
Jimmie Oliver Cassels Sr.
Jimmie Oliver Cassels Sr, known by so many simply as "Jimmie C", was a 70 year old native of baker, Louisiana who could be found most days at his beloved camp in Woodville, Mississippi. It was there that on Sunday, January 10th, 2021, he entered into an eternal sleep only to awaken into the loving arms of our Heavenly Father. Jimmie is remembered for his passion for baseball, love of animals, boisterous personality and eagerness to help all those whose path he crossed. He graduated from Baker High School, he was a United States Army Veteran who selflessly served 2 tours in Vietnam, and went on to retire after 30+ years at the paper mill. Jimmie will be missed by many but mostly by his loving family. He is survived by his 3 children: Jimmy (Dena), Blake (Katie) & Harper, 5 grand children: Jackson, Tre, Gracie, Ava & Asher, his brother Claude Cassels (Leslie), his sister Bessie Cassels Granier and 6 Nieces & nephews as well as their children. He is preceded in death by his parents Vernell & Alvie Cassels & brother in law BG Granier. Viewing will be held Thursday, January 14th at Newman Funeral Home in Woodville, Mississippi from 9-11 followed by services in the chapel and burial at Evergreen Cemetery. Flower Arrangements provided by The Hummingbird Florist. Pallbearers: Jimmy Cassels, Blake Cassels, Claude Cassels, Dustin Cassels, Brandon Cassels, & Chad Granier. Honorary Pallbearers: Conner Cassels & Jackson Cassels.
