In memory of
Barry James Acosta Sr.
Barry James Acosta, Sr., beloved husband, father, friend and "Bubba," died Sunday morning at 1:30 a.m. on January 10, 2021 with his loving family at his side. Barry has left behind his wife and best friend of 31 years, JoAnne Q. Acosta; three beautiful sons, Barry J. II "BJ", Jesse J., and Jacob A. Acosta; and his self-proclaimed baby girls, Emily Pepperman, Sam Folse and Bekah Johnson. Barry was born in New Orleans, LA to his late father, Curnest J. Acosta and his surviving mother, Louise B. Acosta. He is also survived by his sister, Kim Acosta and a nephew, Kyle Cupit. Barry's love for his family was uncompromised and unconditional. His sense of humor was quirky and he was always smiling. Barry loved his in-law family, the late Justin K. Quigley, Lois D. Quigley and all of his brothers and sisters-in-law, nieces and nephews. Barry was a truck driver with Dupre Logistics and loved travelling across the country. His love for sports, especially the Saints and LSU, and his love for being comfortable, leaves us to request that everyone attending his services dress in Saints or LSU attire if possible. Relatives and friends are invited to attend the Funeral Mass to be held at Divine Mercy Catholic Church, 4337 Sal Lentini Parkway, Kenner, LA 70065 on Thursday, January 14, 2021 at 12:00 p.m. Visitation at church will begin at 11:00 a.m. Interment will be private. The family invites you to express your thoughts, memories and condolences online at lakelawnmetairie.com. Barry will be gravely missed by all who knew him.
