Antonina Gertrudes Cano Quitoriano 1919 - 2021 It is with great sadness that the family of Mrs. Antonina Gertrudes Cano Quitoriano, popularly called Nanang Toning, announces her passing on Tuesday, January 5, 2021 at Age 101 ½. Nanang Toning was born on June 6, 1919 in the Philippines. She had been a widow since December 10, 1941 when her husband, Juan Antonio Quitoriano who was one of the first Filipino soldiers inducted in the U.S. Army, to die in action in the province of Ilocos Sur when the Japanese soldiers invaded the Philippines in World War II. Since then, Nanang devoted her life taking care of her two daughters, Crescencia (Cres) Q. Pangan of La Mirada and Antonita (Nita) Q. Lottritz of Palm Springs and later her grandchildren, Rowena, Joe and Rommel. Joe preceded her in death. The other granddaughter is Marissa and the great granddaughters are Bailey and Christy. Nanang also left behind her sons-in-law, Leonardo D. Pangan and Robert T. Lottritz. Nanang, a devout Catholic, was ever generous with her time, love and attention. She was a very devoted mother, grandmother, relative and friend. She will be greatly missed. Due to the pandemic, a limited attendance for viewing, memorial and funeral services will be held in La Mirada on Wednesday, January 20, 2021. In lieu of flowers or donations, a mass offering and/or prayers in her memory are greatly appreciated.
