In memory of
Sylvia Laverne Orbin, 97, of Youngwood, passed away Friday, Jan. 8, 2021. She was born Aug. 15, 1923, in Everson, the daughter of the late Walter and Madeline (Smith) Lind. She was a member of Christ Untied Methodist Church in Youngwood, also in the Senior Citizens group, a member of Dames of Mata, the Rebekah Lodge, the White Shrine of Jerusalem and a 50-year member of Order of the Eastern Star. Laverne also enjoyed crafts, knitting and reading. She is survived by four generations of nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her first husband, the Rev. John Reffner; her second husband, Kenneth Orbin; her son, Robert Reffner; stepson, Dennis Orbin; sister, Geraldine MacFarlane; and her brother, Walter (Jim) Lind. She was also preceded in death by her special niece, Annette Yuhouse. Friends will be received from 9:30 to 11 a.m. Monday, Jan. 11, in Christ United Methodist Church, 100 Lincoln St., Youngwood. Services will be held at 11 a.m. in the church. A limited number of people will be permitted in the church at one time. Masks must be worn and social distance must be maintained. Interment will follow in Westmoreland County Memorial Park. Arrangements are by the C. RICHARD McCAULEY FUNERAL HOME INC., 101 S. Fourth St., Youngwood.
