Charles Lee "Charlie" Andrews Jr.
Charles Lee "Charlie" Andrews, Jr., August 1, 1942 - January 4, 2021, of Luling, LA died peacefully in his sleep in the early morning on Monday, January 4 at the Luling Living Center nursing home. Charlie was born on August 1, 1942 in New Orleans to Charles Lee Andrews Sr. and Euna Songy Andrews, and was raised in the Good Hope community in St. Charles Parish. He was a lifelong resident of St. Charles Parish, having lived the past 40 years in Luling. Charlie graduated from Destrehan High School and would eventually teach there and other public schools in St. Charles Parish, teaching Physical Education, Drivers' Education as well as coaching team sports. He was also a graduate of Southeastern Louisiana College (now University) and married Wilda Jane Crain in Hammond on July 27, 1968. Charlie was an Elder at First Union Presbyterian Church in Luling and was very active in serving the congregation, cooking many pots of gumbo and breakfasts over the years. He had left teaching and was working for McDaniel Controls in Boutte when he retired over 10 years ago. Charlie was preceded in death by his parents, as well as his daughter Elise Andrews Hebert, his sister Euna F. Reschke and her husband Ed Reschke. His sister had just recently passed on Thanksgiving of last year. Survivors include Jane Andrews, his wife of over 52 years and their son Lee Andrews, both of Luling; sister Barbara Jochetz and her husband Jim of Elgin, TX; brother Gordon Andrews and his wife Cindy of Water Valley, MS; 16 nieces and nephews and countless extended family and friends. His wife and son would like to thank the staff at Luling Living Center for taking good care of him in the last months of his life, as well as the Physical Therapy staff at St. Charles Parish Hospital where he attended weekly therapy for many years.
