ROBERT BENNIE CARUBIA September 19, 1947 January 4, 2021 Bob was born and raised in Brooklyn, New York. He graduated from Kentucky Wesleyan College in 1969 with a BA in Physical Education and was a member of the Sigma Phi Epsilon Fraternity. Bob later received his MS in Physiology from Long Island University in New York and earned his Type D Administration Certificate from the University of Wyoming. Bob fulfilled his dream in 1973 as he moved west to buy land and horses. This was truly his paradise and called it his "Ponderosa." He met his wife, Carmen, teaching Physical Education in Colorado Spring's School District 11. Married on May 20, 1978, Bob and Carmen spent over 42 years in Monument raising their family. Bob retired in 2009 as Director of Student Discipline for District 11. His quick wit and bright smile could light up any room and filled those around him with laughter. Bob was the happiest riding his horses or with a fishing pole in his hand. Survivors include his wife Carmen, sons Beau (Dusty); Chad (Alicia, children Cole and Reid); Lucas and daughter Codi Astiasaran (Domingo, children Domingo V, Gianna and one on the way). Anyone who knew Bob could tell you how proud he was of his children and their accomplishments. Dr. Beau Carubia MD Child and Adolescent Psychiatry; Dr. Chad Carubia DDS, Dr. Codi Astiasaran DDS and Dr. Lucas Carubia DDS, MS Pediatric Dentistry. Bob is also survived by sister Julie Jadomski (Richard, children Laura, Alana and Michelle) and daughter, Nancy from a previous marriage. Preceding Bob in death are his parents Alfonce and Marietta Carubia.
