In memory of
Joan Dueming
Joan Dueming November 3, 1934 - December 26, 2020 Resident of Discovery Bay On December 26, 2020, Joan Dueming passed to a new life in heaven. Joan looked forward to an everlasting life with Jesus and a reunion with departed family members in heaven. Joan embraced life here on earth for all of her 86 years. She now joins the love of her life, her deceased husband Fritz Dueming to whom she was married for 58 years. She will be greatly missed by daughters Sheral Byram (Jeff), Kristen Carroll (Patrick), son Scott Dueming (Connie), grandchildren Katie Byram, Michael Carroll, Cortney Dueming, Casey Dueming, Colton Brown, and great grandchild Daymond Dueming, sister Susan (Ray), sister-in-law Diane. Joan's many friends include her church family at Delta Community Presbyterian Church, high school buddies that had continued to keep in touch, neighbors in Discovery Bay, and close family in Oregon where Joan was born. Music was a lifelong passion for Joan. Jazz piano was a favorite as she performed in several venues in the bay area. Ukulele came later when she was the initial music director for the Delta Strummers in Discovery Bay. Her lifetime included adventures in camping, hiking in Yosemite, several off shore sailing trips to Mexico and Hawaii. After being a stay-at-home Mom, Joan earned her Associate of Arts Degree at Diablo Valley College with an emphasis in accounting and taxation. She completed the extensive study and difficult exam to receive the designation of Enrolled Agent awarded by the U.S. Treasury. This led to opening her own business in bookkeeping and income tax preparation which she conducted for 20 years. Fritz's work life took them to Europe where they toured and visited the German relatives, and visits to other European and Asian countries. Transfers included one to Texas for a few years, and a major move to Saudi Arabia. Joan and Fritz enjoyed years of RV trips mostly traveling on the Oregon Coast and the California redwoods. What a wonderful life it has been. She leaves her profound love to all those who knew her with the faith that they will all be together again in heaven. Donations in Joan's memory can be sent to Delta Community Presbyterian Church, 1900 Willow Lake Road, Discovery Bay, CA 94505. View the online memorial for Joan Dueming
