In memory of
Janet Miller, age 88, passed away peacefully October 31st, 2020 at her home in Brea, California. She was born December 9, 1931, in Los Angeles, California to Leila and Edward Harsch. Her youth was spent in Huntington Park. She graduated from Huntington Park High in 1949. Jan married her first husband, Edward Vincent, in the early '50s in Los Angeles and together they had two daughters, Susan and Sandra. Then a working mom, she worked as an administrator for the city of Huntington Beach, Westminster, and Santa Ana, as well as the county of Orange. In 1980, Jan married the love of her life, Jack Miller, at Garden Grove Community Church where they had met. Together Jan and Jack enjoyed an active, fun-filled life with their now large and blended family – including Jan's 3 new step-children – Todd, Randy, and Becky. Jan was an avid cards player, often joining whatever Bridge, Hearts, Cribbage, or Mahjong game she could find. She was also actively involved in Alzheimer's of Orange County and Big Brothers of Orange County. Jan and Jack loved to travel, loved Angels baseball games, and loved to spend time with their children and grandchildren. She will be remembered for her strong, fiery spirit, and incredible intellect and wit. She was a go-getter and a fighter for all. Left to honor Jan are her daughters, Sandra (and Mark) Nelson and Susan Bishop-Vincent; her step-children Todd Miller, Randy (and Diane) Miller, and Becky (and Scott) Kaluahine; her grandchildren Jared, Jake, and Hunter Nelson; Nick, Zach, and Aly Bishop; Mitchell and Danielle Miller; Kanoe Kaluahine-Le; Jacob Kaluahine; Bonnie Miller-Piper; and six great-grandchildren. Jan has now rejoined forces with her love, Jack. To honor Jan's memory, the family asks that in lieu of flowers a donation be made to Alzheimer's of Orange County.
