Don Wallace Peterson May 21, 1930 - Nov. 18, 2020 OKLAHOMA CITY Don Wallace Peterson was born May 21, 1930, in Parsons, KS, the first of two children of Cecil James and Dorotha Grace Peterson. He grew up in Parsons, Oswego, Coffeyville, and Pittsburg, KS, graduating from high school in 1948. Don's four-decade career in broadcasting included hosting The Wallace Wildlife Show for 23 years. Don is survived by his wife, Patricia, of Oklahoma City; daughter, Donna Louise Thompson, of Tulsa; his sister, Jean Elaine Suggs, of Norman; stepdaughter, Paula Stephens and husband Greg, of Chickasha; his stepson, Alan Bennett and wife Nancy, of Denton, TX; and grandchildren, Arielle René Judd, of Tulsa; Hayden and Devon Peterson, of Denver, CO; Amber Bennett, of Tyler, TX; and Brian Stephens, of Oklahoma City. The family will hold a space-limited Memorial Service at the New Hope Methodist Church 10 a.m. Wednesday, Nov. 25, and asks that attendees wear masks. The service also will be available to watch at newhopeokc.org . In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made in Don's name to the Salvation Army.
