Larry Dale Gleason July 26, 1948 - Nov. 15, 2020 MUSTANG Larry Dale Gleason was born on July 26, 1948, to Charles Andrew Gleason and Gladys Grace Sala in Denver, CO. He was an unexpected addition to the family of eight other children. He excelled in music and was part of an award-winning high school band. Upon graduation, he came to Oklahoma City Southwestern Bible College, where he received his associate's degree and his wife, Donna Mashburn. The young couple moved on with Larry attending Bethany Nazarene College and working as a dispatcher for Oklahoma City Public School's security. With ordination papers from the Pentecostal Holiness Church, Larry took on the pastorate of Guthrie Harmony Community Church on the weekends. During this time, their first child, Charles Andrew Gleason, II, was born. Larry graduated from BNC with his bachelor's in biblical theology. He began to feel a strong pull of the Lord to join the Oklahoma City Police Department. In May of 1971, Larry began his 35-year career with the force, working the airport, dispatch, traffic, warrant office, the detective bureau, and evidence management. They were blessed with three other children, Kathryn Marie, Jerod Keith, and Jennifer Lynn. He was present during the federal take over of Citizen's Bank (the Golden Dome), the Alfred Murrah Building bombing - he worked the first three days, and the May 3rd tornado in Moore called to be bussed to the site at 6 a.m. Master Sergeant Larry Gleason retired June 1, 2006. He and Donna have enjoyed a marriage of 52 years and seven grandchildren, Ian, Sebastian, Aiden, Jett, Taylor, Braydon, and Madeline, who brought much happiness and pride. Larry was the last remaining member of his immediate family. He is survived by his wife, Donna; children, Charles, Kathryn, Jerod, and Jennifer and her husband Chad; and many nieces and nephews. A going home service was held at 2 p.m. on Thursday, Nov. 19, 2020, at The Bridge Assembly of God in Mustang, OK, with interment following in the Mustang Cemetery.
