KNOXVILLE - Mr. David A. Carley, 75, of Knoxville, formerly of Galesburg, passed away at 9:02 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 18, 2020, at his home. He was born June 25, 1945, in Galesburg, the son of Arthur C. and Geneva (Stern) Carley. David is survived by a son, Dustin Carley of Knoxville; a brother, Donald Carley of Galesburg; two sisters, Sheryl Carley and Jean Carley both of Galesburg and Rebecca (and Everett) Carnes of Macomb and two grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a brother, Robert Carley, three sisters, Barbara Roy, Beverly Boughner and Judith VanMiddlesworth. David was a Navy veteran serving from 1963 to 1969. He was a heavy construction worker, a mechanic and did auto body. He loved to play golf, enjoyed stock car racing and drag racing. David's wishes were to be cremated with a celebration at a later date. Burial will be in East Linwood Cemetery. Memorial may be made to the family.
