Rose Gallo Mamaroneck - Rose Gallo, age 90, passed away peacefully November 19, 2020. She was born January 26, 1930 in San Vito sullo Ionio, Italy, to Giuseppe and Maria Greto. Rose emigrated to the United States in 1950 and settled with her family in Mamaroneck, NY. A short while later, she met her husband-to-be, Faust, (predeceased) during a visit to Harbor Island. A devoted couple throughout their marriage of 58 years, they made their home in Mamaroneck not far from Harbor Island. There they raised their three children, Francis, Rosanne and Grace. Rose loved to garden. She enjoyed the beauty of flowers but also gave equal attention to the vegetables she cultivated. Rose was a lifelong student always pleased and proud to acquire new knowledge. Rose a ready wit; she liked to laugh and found pleasure in sharing good humor. She was a congregant of St Vito's Roman Catholic Church, and for some years, a Eucharistic Minister. For more than 30 years, Rose brought her personal glamor and style to her position as a sales associate at Alexander's Department Store in White Plains, NY, Rose is survived by her three children, Francis Gallo of Harleysville, PA, Rosanne Levbarg of Austin, TX, and Grace Gallo of Larchmont, NY and their spouses, Laura Gallo, Mark Levbarg, and James Whitehouse; grandchildren, Jennifer Ballow, Melissa Gallo, Dara Chaffin, and Gregory Gallo; and sisters, Elisabetta (predeceased), Vito Greto (predeceased) (Elisabetta), Anthony Greto (Maria), Marianna Paonetti (Mario), Josephine Vitro (Joe), Nick Greto (Diane), Carmela Cerullo (Anthony) and Chris Pisciotta (Sal), five 5 great grandchildren and her many nephews and nieces. There will be a private viewing for Rose's immediate family on Tuesday, November 24th followed by interment at Ferncliff Cemetery in Hartsdale, NY. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in memory of Rose to St. Vito Church in Mamaroneck, NY. It is planned to have a memorial service for Rose at some future date.
