In memory of
William Heyle "Bill" Lutes
William 'Bill' Heyle Lutes Jan. 26, 1954 - Nov. 8, 2020 William "Bill" Heyle Lutes, 66, of Canby, passed away Sunday, Nov. 8, 2020 as his five-year battle with cancer came to an end. Bill was the owner and heart of local business Lutes Custom Woodworking. His dedication to his craft made him one of the finest finish woodworking specialists in the state of Oregon, and beyond. He was a man who lived for his family, time in nature, appreciation of wildlife, and any outdoor adventure that came his way. He was particularly fond of hiking, birding, SCUBA diving, mountain climbing, traveling, and running. To hike with Bill was to experience nature in a remarkable way; by having birds identified by song and to learn the flowers and trees by name. He summited every mountain peak on the West Coast over 7,500 feet and spread his love of nature to his family and friends. His passing is a great loss of light and he will be remembered in the beauty of every breathtaking vista, in the migration of birds in Autumn, in the crash of breakers on the beach, and in the rainbows in the mists of waterfalls. Bill was preceded in death by his sister, Sharon; his mother, Mary Ann; and his father, William Sr. He is survived by his wife and partner of 23 years, Diana; daughters, Naomi, Trillium, and Bryden; grandchild, Gaelen; and sisters, Joyce and Beverly. Remembrances may be made to The Nature Conservancy ( www.nature.org ). Please sign the online guest book at www.oregonlive.com/obits
