In memory of
Jones Joseph Dunham
Jones Joseph Dunham, a resident of Vestavia Hills, Alabama passed away on Sunday, November 15, 2020. He was 71. Joe was born on March 30, 1949 in Tuscaloosa, Alabama. He was a 1967 graduate of Berry High School. He went on to graduate from the University of Alabama in 1971. Heaven has not been quiet since Pop walked through Heaven's Gates. Joe or "Pop" to his family, never met a stranger and always had a big smile on his face to everyone he met. Joe was an avid outdoorsman and Alabama football fan. He would enthusiastically share his hunting stories with anyone who would listen. He loved his family and friends and had a zest like no other. Pop shared his love of the outdoors with his grandchildren, through which his memory will live on for generations. We take solace in knowing that Pop died doing what he loved, hunting, with one of his grandchildren. He was a member of Mountaintop Community Church since its inception and a true believer in Our Lord. He was preceded in death by his parents, Lorena Hall and William King Dunham. Survivors include his brothers, Bill Dunham (Judy) and Bob Dunham (Janie); Donna Johnson, the loving mother of his sons; Josh Dunham (Susan), Jake Dunham (Brittney); his daughters, Lauren Dunham, and Tracy Baker; his grandchildren, Anna Caroline and Will Dunham, Landry and Gentry Dunham, Taylin Fritz, Morgan and Rowan Crawford. A Celebration of Life will be held on Monday, November 23, 2020 at 11:00 am at Mountaintop Community Church, 225 Centerview Drive, Birmingham, AL. 35216. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to Raleigh's Place, 346 County Road 1028, Clanton, AL. 35046. Raleigh's Place is a Christ-centered foster care ministry in which Joe served on the Board of Directors. This ministry was very dear to his heart.
