Helen Burd Dietz, 94, of Lower Paxton Township, passed away on Wednesday, November 18, 2020 at Homeland Center, Harrisburg, PA. Born on February 9, 1926 in Newport, PA to the late George W. and Eleanor (Wright) Burd. She was a graduate of Enola High School Class of 1944. Retired from Nationwide Insurance Company underwriting department. Helen was a member of Faith United Church of Christ, Grantville, PA. She was a 50 plus year member of Harrisburg Chapter #552, OES, a Past High Priestess of the Ladies Oriental Shrine, Es Said Court #29, Past Watchman of Shepherds of the White Shrine of Jerusalem, Bethany Court #12, and the PP&L Live Wire Club. She was the widow of Harry A. Dietz, to whom she was married for almost 72 years. Surviving are her daughter, Beverly A. Palmer, and her significant other, Eddy Drake of Grantville, 2 grandchildren, Matthew Lenker and his wife, LeeAnn of Mount Joy, Susan Miller and her husband, Andrew of Hope Mills, NC, a great grandson, Cooper Lenker, and her grand puppy, Drake. Funeral services will be held at 11:15 A.M. on Tuesday, November 24, 2020 in the Jesse H. Geigle Funeral Home, 2100 Linglestown Road, Harrisburg, PA 17110. Burial will be in Woodlawn Memorial Gardens, Harrisburg, PA. Viewing will be from 10:00 A.M. until 11:00 A.M. on Tuesday in the funeral home. There will be an Order of the Eastern Star service performed by Harrisburg Chapter #552, OES at 11:00 A.M. In keeping with current health guidelines, attendees are encouraged to exercise proper precautions including the wearing of face coverings and appropriate social distancing.
