Bernard Dudley Served in Vietnam, ILA Union official; active in local church Bernard Dudley was born in Wilson, N.C., November 22, 1947. Our beloved transitioned from his earthly home to his heavenly home on November 12, 2020. He graduated from the Newark Public School System; served in the Vietnam War and received a Bronze Star. He matriculated at Kean University, Union, N.J., and Essex County College, Newark, N.J. He worked for the City of Newark and the U.S. Postal Office in Newark before becoming a Longshoreman and an ILA Union official. Bernard was a member of Good Neighbor Baptist Church, Newark, where he served in the Men's Ministry and as a former Trustee. Relatives and friends are invited to attend a public walk-through visitation on Saturday, November 21, 2020, from 9 to 11 a.m., from the Transcend Worship Center, 971 Clinton Avenue, Irvington, N.J. Due to the pandemic, the Celebration of Life Services will be private to invited attendees only.
