FIELD, PEGGY, was born and raised in Hickory, North Carolina. After graduation she moved to St. Louis, Missouri where she met her future husband, Peter W. Field. They married on November 22, 1956, Thanksgiving Day. Pete joined the Navy Reserve, whereupon he and Peggy were stationed in Darlington, Virginia. After the birth of their first child, Peter Jr., they relocated overseas where Lynne, Lisa and Robert were born. In the early 1960's the family returned to the United States taking up residence in Atlanta, Georgia. A job transfer in 1970 led them to Birmingham, Alabama. Peggy was a very active mother always involved in PTA leadership, Scout Leaders, Civic and Church organizations, Garden Club and Volunteering. She was a longtime member of Our Lady of Sorrows Catholic Church. Her creativity, resourcefulness and insight led her to start a home business that grew to be a successful baby gift line. She holds the original patent for the "Tooth Fairy Pillow". Peggy is survived by her children, Peter Jr., Lynne (Scott), Lisa (Emerson) and Robert; grandchildren, RJ (Julie), Alex, Katherine, Whit and Celie; great grandchildren, Margot and Danielle; brother Jack and sister Zelda; and special friend Dr. Richard Shepard. A private service and burial will be held by the family at a later date.
