Bratt, Donald 4/16/1932 - 11/14/2020 Donald Herbert Bratt entered into Christ's presence on Saturday, November 14, 2020 after a valiant struggle with cancer and Covid -19. Donald was the beloved adopted son of Hero D. and Clara Bratt, of Grand Rapids, Michigan. Don graduated from Grand Rapids Christian High, attended Calvin College, and then attended the University of Michigan, majoring in business and playing in the marching band, which he loved. After college, Don joined the U.S. Army, and because of his exceptional test results, was recruited into the Counter Intelligence Corp (CIC). He married the love of his life, Dorothy Mae Dykstra on May 4, 1956. Don loved music, playing the clarinet and piano, and singing, and had a beautiful bass voice. He was involved in his church, serving multiple times as Elder and Deacon. He enjoyed a variety of activities and hobbies - playing on church softball teams, watching professional and college sports, fishing, building model airplanes with his children, swimming, collecting rare books and model airplanes. He had one of the top collections in the world of rare WW II plastic model airplanes. Before retirement, he was part-owner of Stevens Advertising and was named "Ad Man of the Year" by the Grand Rapids Ad Club for his many contributions. Don loved his four children, his grandchildren and great-grandchildren and shared his love of Christ with them.
