Carol J. Reid PLAINFIELD TOWNSHIP Carol J. Reid, 74, of Plainfield Township, formerly of Nutley, N.J., passed away at St. Luke's University Hospital - Bethlehem Campus in Fountain Hill on Thursday, November 12, 2020. She was the wife of the late Edward C. Reid Jr., with whom she shared 53 loving years of marriage prior to his passing in July. Born in Wind Gap, she was a daughter of the late Paul S. and Emma (Schoenenberger) Wentzell. She was a graduate of Nazareth Area School District, Class of 1964. While raising a family, Carol also managed the financial side of the family Rigging/Trucking equipment firm for 40 years. Her passion for volunteering led Carol to a successful and rewarding career as an EMT with Plainfield Township, which spanned more than 20 years of service to her community. Following her retirement, Carol enjoyed the role of grandmother and cherished time spent with her family. She was a member of St. Peter's Evangelical Lutheran Church of Plainfield. Carol is survived by her children, Ed Reid and wife, Andrea, of Palmer Township, and Sara Thompson and husband, David, of Glen Mills; granddaughters, Emma and Jade; three brothers, Stanley Wentzell and wife, Eleanor, of Wind Gap, Alvin Wentzell and wife, Barbara, of Saylorsburg, and Linford Wentzell of Wisconsin; two sisters, Helen Fox and husband, Ronald, of Tatamy, and Sandra Poloni and husband, Pat, of Pen Argyl; along with many nieces and nephews. In addition to her husband, Edward, she was predeceased by a son, Paul, who died at birth; a sister, Dorothy Mae Schreck, and a brother, Barry Wentzell. A Public Graveside Service will be held on Saturday, November 21, 2020, at 11 a.m., in Plainfield Cemetery, Church Road, Pen Argyl. There will be no calling hours. All attendees will be required to wear a mask and practice social distancing protocols due to COVID-19 restrictions. Arrangements are under the care and direction of the George G. Bensing Funeral Home, LLC, in the Village of Moorestown - Bath. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be offered to St. Peter's Evangelical Lutheran Church of Plainfield, 1422 Church Road, Pen Argyl, PA 18072 George G.
