Mark James Broomfield Mark James Broomfield, born in 1955, died unexpectedly in 2020 at his home in Balston Spa, N.Y. He predeceased his mother, Barbara (Walborn) Broomfield formerly of Shortsville; sisters and brothers-in-law, Janet and Ken Krueger of Goldsboro, N.C., and N. Lynne and Paul McCarron of Marlborough, Conn.; brother and sister-in-law, Ted and Kelly Broomfield of Jacksonville, Fla.; sons, Leigh Broomfield of Montpelier, Vt., Dylan Broomfield of Gansevoort, N.Y., Jeremy Broomfield (Silvia Quispe) of Brooklyn, N.Y.; and many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. Mark graduated from Red Jacket Central High School in 1973. He went on to Union College where he played quarterback for the football team. He obtained his degree in economics and graduated in 1977. He relocated to Manhattan immediately following graduation and began his career working in the financial district. He obtained his masters degree in business administration from Fordham Gabelli School of Business in 1980. Mark had a successful 43-year career as a managing director for Bankers Trust Company; chief information officer/managing director for Citibank's Global Cash management division; principle of Business Edge Solutions; director of financial services for Perficient (Forward ThinkGroup); as well as serving on the Federal Reserve Bank committee. Mark was highly regarded by his peers. He will be remembered for his kind personality, his zest for life, his love for family, his welcoming smile with every greeting and his love of all sports. He will be forever in our hearts. As it was once written, "Mark does everything and everything he does, he does well!"
