June A. Riegel PLAINFIELD TOWNSHIP June A. Riegel, 98, formerly of Bangor, PA, and Zephyr Hills, FL, peacefully passed away on Tuesday, October 20, 2020, at Chandler Estate in Plainfield Township, PA. She was the wife of Troy R. Riegel, with whom she shared 40 loving years of marriage prior to his passing in 1980. Born in Wind Gap, PA, she was a daughter of the late Edwin and Stella (Schlegel) Smickley. She was a graduate of Pen Argyl High School, Class of 1940. For more than 30 years, June was employed by Acme Markets, where she worked as a meat wrapper at the Stroudsburg, Bangor, and Nazareth locations before retiring. June was a member of Hope United Church of Christ, Wind Gap, as well as the Pen Argyl Alumni Association, Fraternal Order of Eagles and Loyal Order of Moose, both of Easton, PA. Throughout her lifetime, she traveled extensively, loved camping, and enjoyed painting and playing cards. June's family wishes to express their sincere appreciation to the staff of Chandler Estate for the exceptional care and kindness extended to June during her years of residency. She is survived by three sisters, Margaret Albert of Chandler Estate, Madeline Beers and husband, Edward, of Port Orange, FL, and Jean Roper and husband, Russell, of Wind Gap; a brother, Marlin Smickley of Colorado; along with many nieces and nephews, including her niece, Yvonne DeThomas of Bangor. In addition to her husband, Troy, she was predeceased by three brothers, Ralph, Paul and Robert Smickley; a sister, Marion Mucha; and two nephews, Timothy Roper and Robert "Bobby" Fisher. A private graveside service will be held at the convenience of the family. There will be no calling hours. Arrangements have been entrusted to the GEORGE G. BENSING FUNERAL HOME, LLC, in the Village of Moorestown - Bath.
